The Main House Front Lawn
Standing beneath the columns of The Main House, it’s difficult not to feel that something special is happening. With it’s timeless architecture and stately presence, The Main House is the focal point of Wavering Place, and a key element of photos and experiences.
Green Tree Pavilion
The Green Tree Pavilion combines the charm of an open-air venue with the convenience of indoor spaces, making it ideal for receptions, workshops, and gatherings of all kinds. Featuring a Groomsmen Suite and changing areas, this versatile space seamlessly blends functionality and elegance, providing a sophisticated setting for any event.
The Kitchen House
Exclusively available for weddings, The Kitchen House offers a beautifully appointed bridal suite designed for relaxation and elegance. With its timeless charm and thoughtful details, it provides the perfect setting to prepare, unwind, and savor the moments leading up to your special day.
The Back Lawns
With wide open spaces, the “Back Lawn”, “Green Tree Lawn” and the “Far Lawn” are each a blank canvas on which to bring your vision to light. With the Main House still nearby, the back lawns are ideal for very large dance floors and tents.
The Formal Garden
A legacy of “Uncle Julian,” The Formal garden contains a stunning array of native flora. Here among the stewartia, ferns, and narcissus, you’ll find the ideal location for photoshoots, cocktail hours, and small ceremonies.

Your reservation will be set upon receipt of a signed contract and a 50% non refundable deposit.

Catering at Wavering Place is provided exclusively by our select caterers-Southern Way, Capital City and Loosh Culinaire. Special items such the wedding cake may be brought in. You can learn more about our partners and culinary experiences at Wavering Place here.

Yes, you may provide your own alcohol, but it must be served by the preferred licensed and insured bar service through your selected caterer.

Wavering Place requires an approved professional decision maker on site during the entire event.

The client and their contracted vendors are responsible for set up and breakdown within the contractually specified time frame. This includes removing all personal items, decor and trash. Our preferred in house vendors will handle catering and rental/tent breakdown.

Absolutely! You may have your rehearsal dinner the night before. Fees are based on details of the event and a price break is taken into consideration. Rehearsal dinners must end by 9:00pm.

Yes, the “Back Porch” in Green Tree House is for groomsmen. In the event that there is a band requiring a changing room, all personal items will need to be removed before the ceremony to make room for the band.

Client and guests have access to the garden, immediate grounds, The Kitchen House and Green Tree House(pavilion). The inside of the main house is not open to the public and all other buildings are off limits. Photos may be taken on the front porch of the main house, but guests may not hang out on porches or in The Kitchen House during the event. The bride and groom may have a private dinner on the back porch of the main house if arrangements are made ahead of time.
